Search Engine Optimization

There’s no secret to SEO and you aren’t going to trick Google.

We do what we can to help your site rank well on Google. This means writing clean, semantic HTML markup, including proper document structure with headings, and displaying your content in a readable text format—not in Flash.

Having said that, there are a few things you can do to help your site rank well:

  1. Write relevant content.
  2. Use the meta feature in Parade
  3. Participate in your community.

Write relevant content

Content is king. Make it meaningful. Make it unique. Don’t write anything that’s not relevant to you or your product. Again, you can’t trick Google (at least without consequences).

Use the meta feature in Parade

On Professional accounts Parade offers a meta description field for all pages and galleries. This can be used for adding a description to each page and gallery of your site that is only read by search engines.

For regular content pages, you’ll find a Meta tab when you are editing the page. For gallery pages, the description of the gallery itself is used the meta description.

Note: on single page templates only the homepage meta info is used. Currently, we have three single page templates: Justin Grohl, Felix Fielding, and Neil Cohen.

Participate in your community.

The internet is your friend. Comment on forums, blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter. Get involved and get your name out there. People will take notice if you have to put in the effort. It is also important to leave links back to your site within your social community.
